Agreed, but I thought it wasn't worth the hassle: I've removed any previous 0.8.3 leftover including the CVS tag. The release process is a bit of a pain, and it saved me a few hours.
I shall say that I was personnally OK with the "0.8.3" duplicate because I made most of the TSP release from 0.6.5 until now, so I know the release process well enough to be for a short-path when it looks like something "reasonable". And I may say that I am as much concerned as you are (Robert) with lazy version handling as well as moving CVS tag. But I found the 0.8.3++ fix fast enough (i.e. no one really deployed the release) to tolerate the duplicate. As soon as our testing procedures improves we should'nt face such problem any time soon and/or the release process would be fast enough so that we can afford current-release + 1 at less cost. I think we (all TSP users and/or developers) should add our force in pre-release testing. This is a "hot" subject we may discuss again very soon here :)) -- Erk
