Bochs gives the following error trying to access the DISPI interface:
allow_io(): IO adr ff80 outside TSS IO permission map (max port=416)
#GP(0)
Furthermore, the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th editions of Scott Mueller's
very good book <http://www.m-tr.com> all list the 32 bytes beginning
with ioport 0xff80 as expected to be used with the Universal Serial
Bus, which Bochs now emulates. I have recompiled both Bochs and the
VGA-BIOS to use 0x1ce and 0x1cf, like the VGA-BIOSes from ATI, but I
don't have cvs write access to the Savannah compile farm. It really
should be part of the Bochs cvs tree. Now if I could only get X11 under
Bochs to work in VESA mode instead of just showing a black screen... -DG
