Ah, you've missread that. Its not a domain name that is used as the
namespace, but an arbitary . seperated (if you like) string. The only
requirement is that the namespace is unique so people often do use their
domain name for this purpose, but that's the only reason.
When an LDS joins the VRS it tells the VRS what it's IP address is and what
it's namespace qualifier is. These are then stored by Goldwater's Domain
handler so that whenever a namespace is referenced, the IP address can be
found (this isn't exactly how Goldwater does it internally. It never needs to
lookup the IP address if the LDS it's trying to route messages to is already
connected and has an open TCP/IP channel - but the description will surfice).
