I respect your right to not make this a sub project of smc. Our idea
of a sub project is a dedicated subset of smc focusing on one
particular project/area (we have debian, gnome, kde, artists, fonts,
rendering... sub projects). As more and more new people started coming
to Free Software community (mostly though Malayalam blogosphere) we
realised there is a lack Malayalam content about Free Software and the
easiest and one of the most effective ways of making it was through
Malayalam translation of gnu.org articles. I have spent a lot of my
time for smc (it was started by Baiju in 2002) and we are happy to see
a lot of new contributors and a strong community. Now with your
decision I have realised Vivek was right about denying my membership.
I have the problem resolved for me.

Dear Praveen,

I *did not* deny you membership to the GNU Malayalam Project. I had  requested you to sent in some translations so that we could perform a peer review. This is a normal process for selection in any Free Software Project. I had to undergo the same selection process before I was selected as a GNU Webmaster.

As Yavor pointed out there was no selection procedure in place to select the www translators. And if Yavor and the community wishes I am willing to undergo such a selection process to prove myself worthy of being a member of the GNU translators team.

In fact we in the GNU Malayalam Project  always welcome volunteers who are willing to contribute towards the translations to join us to help translate www.gnu.org to Malayalam.

I would still welcome you to contribute to the translations of www.gnu.org by sending in some translations to address@hidden . We can subject it to a peer review and submit it upstream once we review process is over.

Thanks+Regards,
