com "I hear, and I forget. or "scratch out" the verbs from the text or 
adjectives or suffixes . The analytical explanations for these enigmas may make 
sense to grammarians, but appear obscure to many of us. If a student asks you a 
question that you don't know how to answer, ask the other students if they can 
answer the question (but don't tell them that you don't know) 3.
