Hi Jens,

Tested a fresh install and everything seems fine. Great improvements in so many ways. Looks ready for me to put it into production.

Thanks for all your help and happy holidays to the group,

Serge

PLEASE NOTE: If there aren't any bug reports coming in or sug-
gestions for urgent improvements I'll use this
release as it is (except for the version number)
for the long awaited new 1.2 release. So, please,
everyone with any kind of issues please speak up
now! Otherwise I'll wait for a few more days and
then proceed with publishing the new release.

None of the code of the library (or fdesign) has been changed,
all modifications are about making it possible to easily build
RPM packages as proposed by Russ Herrold. The files most con-
cerned are libforms.spec.in (formerly known as xforms.spec.in
- the name was changed because the name of the rpm packages
distributed are named 'libforms' instead of 'xforms') and the
main Makefile.am file.am. Also a new README.rpmbuild has been
added to document how to simply build the RPM packages (there
are now three of them, one with just the shared libraries, a
development package containing the hearder files and fdesign
and fd2ps and, finally, a doc package for installing the info,
HTML and PDF documentation. Tests have been done on a CentOS
6.5 system.

Should you test this please be aware that everythhing has been
set up for the coming 1.2 release while the current version is
numver still 1.0.94pre32. This might result in a number of com-
plaints when trying to build the RPM packages (or checking them
with rpmlint). To avoid that please change the fouth line in
the file configure.ac from

AC_INIT([xforms],[1.0.94pre32],[address@hidden])

to

AC_INIT([xforms],[1.2.0],[address@hidden])

and then run './autogen.sh' before continuing with './configure'
(but this requires that you have libtool, autoconf and automake
installed).

I unfortunately have found no way around the problem Michal Szy-
manski found when trying to install on an NFS system. Thus I
could only document it in the INSTALL file, hoping that the im-
pact isn't too big.

Best regards and nice holidays, Jens
