Problems 1-4 are really just one problem. Some kind of internationalization
problem with fonts. I hate those kinds of problems. You may check your
Linux window manager settings for the font. Are you running KDE, Gnome, or
something else?
The trouble is with the number of bits that the OS is expecting to define a
single character. The ADIF file and your Linux window manager are using
different numbers of bits I think. And thats why you see all black
characters sometimes.
Can you copy a sample log entry out of the ADIF file and post it here? It
might be useful for debugging.
Here is one of mine that I know works:
