I am using Mandriva 2008 and hamlib will not compile, so I tried:
./configure --without-hamlib
result is:
checking for HAMLIB... configure: error: Package requirements (hamlib) were not
met:
No package 'hamlib' found
BTW, ./configure on hamlib produces and empty Makefile.
