It installs fairly easily Jack.
You will need to download xlog,
http://pg4i.chronos.org.uk/download/
and install libhamutils with synaptic.
Untar the xlog tarball, go to the
xlog directory you just made, and run
./configure.
Any file you are missing will be listed at the end of
running ./configure . It will even show how to get it.
ie. apt-get install <missing file>
