Hi
type in a terminal
/usr/local/bin/xlog
does it start then ?
if not
type in a terminal sudo su
put in your password
and run the same command again
/usr/local/bin/xlog
if there's nothing happening type exit to drop out of super user mode.
Recompiling shouldn't have any effect unless you have screwed the libs.
Also try the xlog binary I sent you, does that run ?
if that runs
go to the hamapps/xlog directory and run xlog from there, type ./xlog
When thats done post your results back on the reflector
