[pspell-help] compile in personal account |

Hi,
I'm trying to compile pspell and I'm having some trouble.
I'm under RH Linux at university, but the sysadmins are too
overworked at the moment to ask them to install anything
globally :-( So I'm trying to install it in my own account.
When I change
ac_default_prefix=/usr/local
to
ac_default_prefix=/home/gparis/opt
in the configure file and do ./configure, the Makefile has
an empty prefix.
I tried modifying the prefix directly in the Makefile, but
that didn't help either.
Any suggestions?
Garance
