I don't know.  As I've said, I don't use ConTeXt and up to now, I had no
time to try it out and figure out if and how to make AUCTeX use
MarkIV/context rather than texexec.  The ConTeXt page contains a list of
differences

so maybe you'll find the answer there.  Or maybe since MarkIV uses
LuaTeX, the difference lays there.
