I don't know much about this, but I think the problem is related to the 'xdvi-jump-to-line*'-functions in'xdvi-search.el' I'm using xdvik-22.84.5 and xdvi-search.el revision 1.34. The reason I think so is because after having replaced the relative pathsin the '%%% TeX-master: "..."' declarations with absolute paths it works (if I use 'xdvi-jump-to-line-fullpath'Is there a reason you are using xdvi-search.el? AUCTeX has pretty solid facilities for both forward and reverse search built in. We have taken a lot of pains to make it work optimally, and so it is a bit strange if people use other packages and then complain that it does not work.
Ok, my mistake. I've removed xdvi-search.el and things work perfectly now. Based on the information on the xdvik-webpage I was under the impression that xdvi-search.el was a requirement for this feature to work.
