[AUCTeX] RefTeX and import

It seems reftex can't be used with multifile LaTeX documents using the
import package.

Another problem with import was the definition of graphicspath that was
lost when a file was imported. It seems this last problem can be fixed
within AucTeX, see link below.

Could something similar be achieved to make reftex work with import ?
