Can you confirm that is useful and/or acceptable under international law or
treaty or anything? My reading of US Copyright law seems to indicate the
only acceptable forms are the C surrounded by a complete circle (which can
not be represented in ASCII), the word "Copyright", or the abbreviation
"Copr." [http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap4.html]. There is also a
reference that international copyright law requires the complete symbol
elsewhere on the site. I could have sworn I had seen a Copyright Office
circular that specifically stated the pseudo-symbol "(C)" had no legal
standing nor use, but I can not find it at present.
If nothing else, you shouldn't need to use both "Copyright" and the C symbol
at once, as they both mean the same thing. If "(C)" counts as the C symbol
then it should replace "Copyright" entirely.
