I don't mind in the slightest.  I've spent a ridiculous amount
of time over the last few years writing a lot of shell code duplicating
autoconf functionality, and would like to avoid the same
timesink with automake. (Although that may be too late, but
most of the make cruft I wrote a few years back is not fit
for re-use.)  Having just started looking at the automake
source, having someone nit-pick details can only help
me learn it better.  Thanks for the review!
