Hi people!
Here is a snapshot of the 1.7.x branch of Automake.
ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/automake/automake-1.7.6b.tar.gz
ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/automake/automake-1.7.6b.tar.bz2
(no release at alpha.gnu.org this time)
Here are the MD5 sums.
35dea1b9f2e48afe8dbb51af27b79f30 automake-1.7.6b.tar.bz2
6d9f500912fab732fde2de162ff70416 automake-1.7.6b.tar.gz
I hope we can release 1.7.7 next week-end, and that it will be
the last of the 1.7.x series.
If you can, please test it and report any problem you encounter to
<address@hidden>. If you have sent any bug-report that hasn't
been answered, consider sending it again, or fill a PR at
http://sources.redhat.com/cgi-bin/gnatsweb.pl?database=automake
Here is a list of changes since 1.7.6. Thanks to all those would
helped by reporting bugs, sending patches, or commenting.
Bugs fixed in 1.7.6b:
* The implementation of automake's --no-force option is unreliable,
so this option is ignored in this version. A real fix will appear in
Automake 1.8. (Debian Bug #206299)
* AM_PATH_PYTHON: really check the whole list of interpreters if no
argument is given. (PR/399)
* Do not warn about leading `_' in variable names, even with -Wportability.
* Support user redefinitions of TEXINFO_TEX.
* depcomp: support AIX Compiler version 6.
* Fix missing rebuilds during `make dist' with BSD make.
(Could produce tarball containing out-of-date files.)
* Resurect multilib support.
* Noteworthy manual updates:
- Extending aclocal: how to write m4 macros that won't trigger warnings
with Automake 1.8.
- A Shared Library: Rewrite and split into subsections.
