splitting the algebra in some rational structure has nothing to do with the lisp-level packages. the "algebra" package would simply be a collection of the lisp-level functions on which the algebra depends. it might make a good target to reproduce in aldor. but the lisp package level is the wrong place to segment the algebra. bill and i (long ago) had an ongoing discussion of the problem of organizing the algebra but it's hard on so many levels. t
