The OS is Ubuntu 16.04 LTSYou were right, GCL from git://git.savannah.gnu.org/

git cd axiom export AXIOM=`pwd`/mnt/ubuntu export PATH=$AXIOM/bin:$PATH makeI've tried on two different machines, both running the same OS though.
