Unofficial quick reply from a user:
Bibledit seems very tightly integrated into the layout of the Bible, so
I'd be surprised if it's the correct tool for a book.
For book editing I use a tool called LyX, you can find it here:
http://www.lyx.org/
But I have no idea if/how sword could read it; I have almost no
experience with sword.
