Have discovered the problem;
We had set the LANG variable to "english_us.ascii"
a2ps expects "en_US"

I am running linux 7.2 + samba server
I am trying to print to a network printer using lpr
I can "lp -dprinter file.txt" OK
When I try "a2ps -Pprinter file.txt"
or "a2ps -o- file.txt | lp -dprinter"
These only work if I am root or I have "su"'d
I get "segmentation fault" if I execute one of the above commands as an
ordinary user and also if I use sudo "..." to execute the command with
privilege
