a2ps install problem with apple OSX

Dear a2ps authors,

I am using a2ps with great pleasure at my work and would like to use it
also at home at my apple running OSX 10.3. After running config and 
make,
a2ps refuses to start. a2ps returns:
> Computer-van-William-Relyveld:~/temp/a2ps-4.13 relyveld$ a2ps
> a2ps: gethostname: Cannot allocate memory

Might you know how to solve this please let me know. I hope the attached
config.h file is useful.
