    I have reduced the scaling between pixels and cairo sizes a bit.
    Changing the defaults would
    also decrease the xcb sizes which is not that good. Decreasing it
    further seems to dim the
    lines rather than shrinking them.

    I am currently struggling with that. I can enlarge the window but
    not shrink it (the enlarged
    plot area prevents the enclosing window to get smaller. You can see
    that effect when trying
    to drag a resize corner into the drawing area. I have to figure out
    how gtk wants that to be
    done. Every help is appreciated (file Plot_gtk.cc)
