      these days the usual way to run GNU APL on non-standard platforms
      is to encapsulate its APL machine
      into libapl and to link it with your own front-end. I.e. ./configure
        --with-libapl.
      
      As an alternative, you can also build GNU APL as a web application
      like here:

      the complete code for that is contained in subdirectory websock,
      see websock/README.
      It also comes with a nice APL keyboard.

The 5-row configuration gives all the APL symbols as expected with long-press of each key, for a great mobile APL scratchpad!
