Remember to cover the basics, that is, what you expected to happen and
what in fact did happen.

Be sure to consult the FAQ section in the manual before submitting
a bug report. If the bug (or problem) is triggered by a specific
(La)TeX file, you should try to produce a minimal sample file
showing the problem and include it in your report.

Your bug report will be posted to the AUCTeX bug reporting list.

Hello,

I was wondering if somebody could help me suppress syntax
highlighting of the math environment within a certain macro?

The macro \Sexpr{} is used by Sweave to include R code in
LaTeX documents. The `$' symbol can be used within the \Sexpr as
R syntax (having nothing to do with LaTeX's math
environment). Running LaTeX works fine. But AUCTeX's syntax
highlighting kicks in...

Here is an example file junk.Rnw (junk.Rnw -> via Sweave ->
junk.tex):

--8<------------------------schnipp------------------------->8---
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
@
<<echo=TRUE>>=
a <- rnorm(10)
b <- shapiro.test(a)
b
@ %def

Here is the value: \Sexpr{b$p.value} some more text.
%                          ^
\end{document}
--8<------------------------schnapp------------------------->8---

Every character after `b$' is colored as math in the Rnw file. The
resulting tex file includes the number. But with this work flow
one does normally not look into the tex file.

If experimented with `font-latex-user-keyword-classes' but with
no success.

In case you need more information do not hesitate to ask.

Any pointers?

TIA

Patrick
