Okay, thanks for that information. I checked a change into AUCTeX's
CVS repository and would be very grateful if you could fetch a
snapshot build from
<URL:http://theotp1.physik.uni-ulm.de/~ste/comp/emacs/auctex/snapshots/>
and check if it fixes your problem. Snapshots are being built every
few hours, i.e. the fix should be included in an auctex-20051024-b.zip
or auctex-20051025-a.zip, whichever appears first on the server.
