Bash Version: 5.1 Patch Level: 16 Release Status: release Description: When pressing the "x" key, no letter appears, with the combination "CTRL-v x" the "x" appears. The key only works in bash, in sh, in the X server as well, in all graphic applications as well, as well as in the editors nano, joe, etc. If this works, please send me the instructions. THANKS!
You have `x' bound to a readline command other than self-insert, or you
have it bound to one of the stty special characters.
Check the first by looking at the output of
bind -p | grep '^\"x"';
check the second by looking at the output of `stty -a'.
