Not sure I want to commit myself to spinning up a RHEL 9 VM just to

thread on this topic, but does the devel branch have any build
dependency that differs from those of the master and pre-release
branches?

I don't include pre-built y.tab.[ch], so you need a modern version of
bison. I also removed the pre-computed config.cache file support, since
I have no way to keep that updated.

What's the error you get? Note that if you're running on cygwin or mingw,
I don't have any way to test those.
