This works:

$ ./gold/ld-new -plugin ./gold/testsuite/plugin_test.so --no-demangle -shared
-o test.so bar.o  foo.o

foo.o: claim file hook called (offset = 0, size = 1176)
all symbols read hook called
cleanup hook called

But this fails:

$ ./gold/ld-new -plugin ./gold/testsuite/plugin_test.so --no-demangle -shared
