Tested on Raspbian Jessie (binutils 2.25)

with -mcpu=cortex-a53 gas does not allow crc extensions - (it does work with
-march=armv8-a+crc)

Compiles fine with

gcc crctest.c -o testapp -std=c11 -march=armv8-a+crc
-mfpu=crypto-neon-fp-armv8" 

Fails with

gcc crctest.c -o testapp -std=c11 -mcpu=cortex-a53 -mfpu=crypto-neon-fp-armv8"
