Hi Nick,
Many thanks for this patch. I think you're right, it is a reasonable
compromise, in that it increases coverage of overflow detection, without
introducing false positives. The remaining cases that aren't caught, are at
least documented in code comments, so I am in favour of the patch. It is an
overall improvement.
