I use the following command,

$ ./configure --prefix=`pwd`/build --disable-binutils --disable-ld
--disable-gold --disable-gas --disable-sim --disable-gprof --disable-gprofng
$ make

In addition, I noticed that the error also appeared on another macbook which
newly installed macOS 11.6.1
