Hi Matthias,
I have no idea what is causing this. :-(

If you look at the --help output of one of the built binutils tools, are any
32-bit x86 architectures listed, or just 64-bit ones ?
Is it possible that there is a bug in how libgcc is testing for 32-bit x86
support ? (ie could this be a libgcc bug rather than a binutils bug ?)

This is so weird. If it works for other hosts, why not the s390x ? Could it
be an endian thing ? The s390x is big-endian right, and all the rest are
little-endian ?
Cheers
Nick
