Hi Alexander,
I use sstrip from ELFkickers instead strip from binutils for more smallest
executables
https://github.com/BR903/ELFkickers
May be make strip more efficient by use ELFkickers sources ?
Thanks for the offer, but I think that we will pass.
There are various issues, such as licensing - we need sources
that are copyright assigned to the FSF, or donates under a
Developer Certificate of Origin, and flexibility - the binutils
strip utility does a lot more than just try to create the smallest
possible binary and competition. (By competition I mean that
I think that it is a good idea that there are multiple different
implementations of these utilities and that users can choose
between them).
Cheers
Nick
