The current sources use an m4 command like this:
running: .../gm4 -I .../install/share/bison m4sugar/m4sugar.m4 /tmp/bsnCHaqGD
bison.simple
The problem is that if bison.simple happens to be in the CURRENT
directory (admittedly unlikely, except for developers), that version
of the bison.simple is what you get, ignoring the installed
version, AND ignoring the setting of BISON_PKGDATADIR (which is
undocumented). (Setting BISON_SIMPLE (which IS documented) doesn't work
in any case, as it seems to have been removed.)
I have this intuition that I am observing some intermediate stage of
evolution to a new spec. What might it be?
