|
| Yes. Bison 1.75 was built incorrectly: tests/testsuite and
| tests/package.m4 contain the wrong version number. I suppose
| this means there is a bug in the release procedure.
I suppose too, but I can't imagine what it can be: testsuite depends
on configure.ac :(
| How about if we cut an official 1.75a test version now? As far as I
| know, all the 1.75 bugs have been fixed. A few messages have been
| changed, though, so it'd be nice to give translators a crack at them
| before we release an official 1.875 version.
I agree, this is a good idea.
| Before releasing 1.75a, we should make sure the testsuite
| version-number bug isn't present in the tar file. I vaguely recall
| doing this by hand for Bison 1.50; sorry, I should have fixed it then
| but I was in a hurry and still don't fully understand the release
| procedure.
What do you mean? The release procedure is doing plenty of other
things, agreed, but I'm talking about a plain make dist: I never
managed to have it keep an obsolete testsuite :(
