Yes, the current implementation of piostremas requires a quite
updated gcc. We know it compiles well with gcc 3.2. gcc 2.x and 3.0.x
will surely not work. Curiously, I recall I was able to build cc++
piostreams with gcc 3.1 on RedHat 7.3. What version are you using?
