[Bug-cpio] is it a bug ?

Hello list,

i am trying to do this :
 find ./seu.dmp |cpio -ocvB >/tmp/test.cpio
cpio: File ./seu.dmp grew, 0 new bytes not copied
./seu.dmp
1 block

I know, that the file is not modified.

The file i am trying to cpio is arround 19,2 GB big.

I am using Version 2.5 which is comming with SuSE SLES8.

From SuSE they told me that cpio is unable to handle files which are such as big
in the archive. The archive file itsselve maqy be as big, but not the files in the archive.

1. is this true ?
2. Why is this like this ?
3. I did not have the problem with the cpio on SOLARIS
