Thanks for your patches, but they are awfully hard for me to use. A couple of
requests:

1:  Base them on the development version of CVS, especially for large patches. 
There
are instructions on how to retrieve that via anonymous CVS at
http://cvshome.org/dev/index.html#anon .
2:  Exclude generated file and files in the CVS admin directories (my diff has 
an
--exclude= option to facilitate this).
3:  Include ChangeLog entries.
4:  Mail the patches to the lists as MIME attachments or use a mail reader that
doesn't wrap your lines.
5:  Read and follow the rules in the HACKING file included with the CVS 
distribution.

It would be helpful if you'd resubmit these patches according to the above
guidelines.
