CVS log in bug? |

I have a particularly annoying problem on my NT 4.0 box involving logging
into a remote repository on UNIX (HP-UX). I suspect that it is a bug since
my setup works great on several other NT machines I have tried (just not
the one I'm using now). Whenever I try to do something like "cvs status
file.c" (using WinCvs 1.2 on NT), I get the following error message
cvs status: cannot log in as local user 'LoginID', remote user 'loginid'
cvs [status aborted]: Permission denied by rshd
where my usernames on NT and UNIX are "LoginID" and "loginid",
respectively. I have set up my CVSROOT as
"loginid@unix_machine.com:/repository_install_directory" and am using
.rhosts authentication (i.e., "nt_machine.com LoginID").
I have searched through the CVS FAQs and could not find anything on this
issue. I hope I have enquired about this at the proper place. Is this a
bug, or does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
