I am relatively new to CVS and have encountered one bug and one
documentation shortcoming.
I'm running 1.11.1p1 client on Windoze 98.
(1) "cvs import -kb" corrupts my binary files; they are substantially
smaller when initially imported. If I then do a "cvs commit -kb" from
a fresh copy, the problem is fixed; subsequent checkouts are ok.
(2) The manual makes a distinction between cvsignore and .cvsignore,
the former referring to the depository and the latter to the user.
There is no distinction made, however, between cvswrapper and
.cvswrapper; both are used seemingly interchangeably. This should be
clarified, IMHO.
If anyone is feverishly working to accomodate wish lists, I have a
humble one: there doesn't seem to be any way of establishing a CVS
directory, i.e., one with subdirectory "CVS" with Entries, Repository,
and Root, without doing a checkout, which in turn requires an import.
Consequently, it is not possible to do an 'add' from a fresh
directory, i.e., one not recognized by CVS. It would be nice to be
able to set up an empty CVS directory and do an add for the first file.
