Documentation is normally the last thing that's done. The multiple
vendor feature has been explicitly documented, I've even read it!
Must admit I would have liked them to have actually mentioned
to keep the numbers odd. Doesn't seem to be any protection
against that last time I tried and unfortunately chose an even
number. Still, I no longer work at that place. :-) And the number
was quite high, 1.1.172, so hopefully there won't be a clash. Although
if anyone reads that email from Pierre and starts on the weekly
branches, that number would be broached in a year, even with only
two projects! :-)
