Ah, I see what you mean. /tmp is hardcoded too, so I was unsure what
you were getting at.
I think the assumption in the configure script was that if
TMP/TMPDIR/TEMP was already set in the build environment then it was
probably appropriate for the system the executable was being built on.
Do others agree this is a poor assumption?
