The regular DDD development effort
(http://www.gnu.org/software/ddd/ddd.html) has been dead for quite a while
now, with 3.3.1 as its latest (final?) release.
The bashdb folks have teamed up with the current Debian DDD package
maintainer to work on DDD; they've produced a 3.3.5 release that's available
from http://sourceforge.net/projects/bashdb . You may want to give that a
try.
