Details:
When configuring ddd with --enable-builtin-manual, and
running it in an environment that uses an UTF-8 locale, the
reference manual display stops at the first non-ASCII
character (the "ü" in Dorothea Lütkehaus' name).
Running ddd entirely within an ISO-8859-1 locale makes this
work, but is usually no longer the preferrable option these
days.
As a workaround, I have replaced all non-ASCII characters
in ddd.texi by their correct texinfo notation (ü -> @"u etc.).
While the info(1) command currently does not display these
characters correctly afterwards, this seems to be something
that ought to be fixed in info itself, rather than trying to
force any particular encoding already in the info files
itself.
