Ddrescue tries to read backwards from the end of every bad area in the disc, but in your case it is still reading forwards (Copying data...) and hasn't reached the end of the disc yet.
Try "ddrescue -s 49850MB /dev/disk3s3 Volumes/300gb/copiedvolu.dmg your_logfile". If it proceeds to trim and split errors, the disc is still alive and you can try to rescue the rest. If it does not respond, try the freezer.
