[Bug-ddrescue] Weird behavior with options -d and -c |

Hi!
I used ddrescue 1.9-rc1 on RIPLinux v7.2.
When I add "-d -c 1500" to the command line, ddrescue does not copy,
but as it says "Splitting error areas...".
Also it says : errsize: 640 GB
Without these options it simply copies the data.
Also a lower value for -c , like 150 again works (copies, no serror area
splitting).
This is confusing to me. What is this error area splitting ?
The complete command line used was:
ddrescue [-d] [-c 150[0]] /dev/sda /dev/null
# sda is 640 GB big
Regards,
David
