I'm running ddrescue right now to transfer data from a 200GB SATA hard
drive formatted as NTFS with 8kb in bad sectors to a 320GB SATA hard
drive that's clean. This is the second time I'm running this process.
The first time I did the transfer, I noticed the 320GB drive was
reported as having 8kb in bad sectors like the original 200GB drive when
I run chkdsk on Windows XP.
Should I expect bad sectors to be "transferred" to the new drive, as I
noticed in my case?
I don't know which version of ddrescue I'm running because it's still
running but it's on the Trinity 3.4 build 367 rescue CD.
The command I ran the first time was:
ddrescue /dev/sda /dev/sdb
The command that is running right now is:
ddrescue -d -r3 /dev/sda /dev/sdb
Thanks!
Peace...
Tom
