Hello William.

Where can I find any information about "--reopen-on-error" parameter?
In the manual distributed with ddrescue, of course. :-)
I have not added it to the online manual because this feature is
experimental.
What does it do?
`-O'
`--reopen-on-error'
Close the input file and then reopen it after every read error.
Use this option if you notice a permanent drop in transfer rate
after finding read errors. Most probably the drop is caused by a
bug or misfeature in the kernel or in the device driver.
BTW, reports about the efficacy (or lack thereof) of this option are
welcome.
Best regards,
Antonio.
