As I am not yet sure if this is a bug or a feature, I am not sure if adding a "direction" field to the logfile is a good idea. Probaby not, because command line should have priority over the logfile.

The direction could be added as a comment in the logfile. Currently, it is possible to know what direction has been chosen by reading the comment with command and options in the logfile.
